AWARDS
Suzuki Auto’s top dealers rewarded
Suzuki Auto South Africa has announced its top-performing dealers, highlighting the company’s focus on service excellence, and the ongoing efforts to ensure that Suzuki owners enjoy the best possible service experience.
Unlike some brands, which categorise their dealer networks according to the size of the dealer, Suzuki Auto SA uses a balanced scorecard system, which measures the performance of each dealership in the national network in terms of sales, service and parts.
This, the company says, creates a level playing field throughout the network, regardless of the size of the dealership. Those dealers achieving high scores are recognised by being awarded platinum status, while the winning dealership in any given the year is the dealership with the highest overall points score.
In addition, there are two special awards – the Suzuki Mobility Finance award, and the Most Improved Dealer award. The Suzuki Mobility Award recognised the dealer achieving the highest WesBank market share, and is calculated on a percentage basis, allowing smaller dealers to compete, too.
The Most Improved Dealer award goes to the dealership showing the most significant scorecard improvement compared to the year before.
The 2014 awards were announced at a gala event in Durban last week, with the coveted Dealer of the Year honours going to Suzuki Auto Johannesburg South. Top scorers in the individual categories for Parts, Sales and Service went to Suzuki Auto Menlyn, Suzuki Auto Bramley and Suzuki Auto Johannesburg South respectively.
The 2014 Platinum Dealers are Suzuki Auto Boksburg, Bramley, Bryanston, Johannesburg South, Port Elizabeth and West Rand. Suzuki Auto Rustenburg received the Suzuki Mobility Finance award, while the most improved dealership was Suzuki Auto Bloemfontein.
The awards come in the wake of a strong year for Suzuki Auto SA. Despite a softer market, sales in 2014 were up 33 percent year on year, with a record sales tally of 6 469 units. The brand also set a new monthly sales record of 676 vehicles in September 2014, while the national dealer network was expanded, and now encompasses 40 dealerships.
“Service excellence is at the very core any successful business, and even more so in the highly competitive motor industry,” says Yukio Sato, managing director of Suzuki Auto SA. “While our national dealer network continues to expand, these awards prove that we remain committed to ensuring that our dealers offer exceptional levels of service to all our customers.”
